About Tarot and Oracle
What is Tarot?
Tarot is a tool used for divination or diving deep into the heart of a matter to see what is not easily seen. It has a very interesting history dating back at least from Renaissance Italy but the actual history is hard to track with many different versions of how it came to be the form we use today. Tarot is a 78 card system split into Major Arcana with cards representing the journey of life or enlightenment and Minor Arcana filled with suites, numbers, and court cards. The cards are interpreted by the reader through numerology, elemental meanings, symbolism, and intuition.
What are Oracle Cards?
Oracle cards are unique to each deck. They usually range from 15-45 cards, and each deck follows its own theme and feel for the cards. These are great for readings with a specific theme, one card draws, or smaller spreads. The guide books tend to play a big part with each deck giving more detail into the author's intended thoughts.
Tarot vs Oracle, what's the difference?
Tarot vs Oracle is a question that is asked a lot. Both are great and have their place in a person's journey. Oracle cards tend to work better as a quick reading or guidance, working with a specific theme, or as clarifier cards. Oracle cards might have a deck that deals with more shadow aspects of life, but most tend to read more in the positive aspects of ourselves. Tarot on the other hand are much harder to read as the meanings are layered and have a lot of symbolism to the cards so a reader must use their intuition more to read and interrupt the reading. The tarot tend to delve deeply and will show both surface and shadow aspects of life. They are more complex and you get a fuller, more in depth reading depending on the spread used.
How does it work?
No one really knows. It is believed that they are just tools that help the reader channel a message for the person they are reading for. I believe however that the card that is needed to be heard will show up, drawn by the person's energy or even from their guides.
Suggestions on wording questions.
Oracle cards and tarot cards do not respond well to yes or no questions. Where it is possible to answer yes or no with the cards, there are other forms of divination like pendulums or throwing bones which are better for yes or no questions and the cards don't tend to read in depth with these questions. Oracle and Tarot prefer questions asked with an emphasis of "how to", asking advice to get to a particular goal, or what the goal will be if you stay on the current path. Examples of what not to ask would be: "Am I going to get a promotion?" Instead, an example of how to better word it would be: "How can I get a promotion?" or "What steps should I take to help me get promoted?"

Who am I?
Hi, I'm Summer! As a teen I bought my first pendulum at 14 and then received my first tarot deck at 16, a deck that I still have today! Since then I have gathered as much information as I could and delved into many different modalities. Through it all, tarot and oracle cards were a constant passion and over the 25 plus years I have collected many decks and have read for family and friends. I spread my love for the cards everywhere I can and have even incorporated oracle cards into my yoga classes and reiki sessions. I decided to open my readings to the public so that I could continue to share my love and knowledge of the cards to help others heal and grow on their journeys! Thank you!
